Small but Mighty: Brilliantly Brave Named One of the SmallBiz100 for 2025

We’ve just been named one of the SmallBiz100 for 2025 - one of 100 small businesses chosen from 5.4 million across the UK by Small Business Saturday UK and Small Business Britain.

For a tiny business in Moray, that means a lot. Brilliantly Brave began around a kitchen table, designing cards that quietly fund free mental-health support. No glass offices, no investors, just a kettle, a laptop and the belief that creativity could pay for care.

Every card we sell funds training, peer groups and wellbeing sessions. To date, that’s meant 170 people trained as Mental Health First Aiders and more than 400 neighbours supported through coaching and community groups. A small stack of paper turning into very real conversations, courses and comfort.

We’re still underdogs, just with a national spotlight. Recognition like this reminds us that bravery doesn’t need a boardroom, just people who care enough to keep going.

In November, we’ll have our official SmallBiz100 feature day, our chance to show how small ideas become national care, one card and one conversation at a time. We’re planning a Moray celebration with another local business during #TheTour2025: expect cake, caffeine and community spirit, which are, let’s be honest, the three main food groups of small-business life.

This recognition isn’t just for us. It’s for every small Scottish enterprise proving that rural creativity can punch above its weight, that kindness can be commercial, and that purpose doesn’t need polish.

The recognition also helps our message reach further. More visibility means more people trained, more peer groups funded, and more conversations started in the places that need them most.

Thank you for buying the cards, stocking the shelves, sharing the posts and cheering from the sidelines. You’ve helped show that small can be mighty and that kindness can, in fact, be a business plan.
