Kettle on, doors open: a Saturday for connection in Moray

It’s Saturday in Moray, and Jean’s swapping her desk for community.
You’ll find her - in both her Brilliantly Brave and Green Ribbons hats - at “Recovery Together”, the free community event organised by the Moray Alcohol & Drug Partnership, running today (Saturday 30 August) until 3 pm at the Lossiemouth Indoor Sport & Social Club.
If you’ve never been before, imagine a hall filled with chatter, laughter and friendly faces. There’s no stage, no spotlight, just people coming together to celebrate connection, hope and healing.
Recovery Together is exactly what its name says. It’s for anyone who’s been touched by substance use - directly or through someone they care about - and for anyone who simply believes in community care. Whether you’re living recovery, supporting a friend, or just curious about how Moray looks after its own, you’ll be warmly welcomed.
Jean will be there to chat about both sides of her work. How Green Ribbons opens conversations around mental health, and how Brilliantly Brave turns creativity into the funding that keeps those conversations going.
Events like this matter because they make something invisible feel visible again. Recovery isn’t a story told in statistics, it’s people showing up for each other, one cup of tea, one hello, one hopeful day at a time.
So if you’re nearby, drop in. Bring a friend, grab a cuppa, and say hello to Jean before 3 pm. You’ll leave with a smile, a story, and a reminder that recovery, like courage, grows best together.
About Brilliantly Brave
Brilliantly Brave turns greeting cards into support for mental health, every design funding real help in Scottish communities.
Based in Moray and founded in 2024, we’re a small publisher proving that creativity can be kind, and kindness can be commercial. 100% of profits go directly to local mental health initiatives. Because business should make things better, not just make things.
