Brilliantly Brave Makes Scottish Trade Fair Debut
Here's a peculiar thought: what if a greeting card could do more than just say "hello"? What if it could create a ripple effect of positive change that extends far beyond the moment it's opened?
This January, we're bringing that idea to life at Scotland's Trade Fair Spring (19-21 January, SEC Glasgow, Stand LG14). It's our debut at this prestigious event, and we're excited to show our Scottish neighbours how we're reimagining what a greeting card company can be.
We've been quietly making waves since our launch in early 2024. Six nominations at the Henries Awards (think of them as the Oscars of the greeting card world) suggest we might be onto something interesting. Including, a finalist spot in the "Best Contemporary Trend" category.
But here's what makes us different: every Brilliantly Brave card performs a neat trick of social alchemy. When you send one of our cards, it does double duty - once for the recipient, and again for someone in the community who may never meet either of us. How? We channel 100% of our profits into providing free mental health training, coaching, and peer support right here in Scotland.
At the show, we'll be showcasing twelve distinctive collections, including our "Tartan Embrace" range - a celebration of resilience through contemporary Scottish design. We're particularly proud of our new "Tartan Pop!" collection, which proves that tradition and innovation can coexist rather beautifully. Plus our extremely floral "Flourish & Thrive" collection.
"As a Moray-based business, this feels like bringing our cards home," says our co-founder Stuart Cox, who you might know from the award-winning "I Like Birds" brand. Meanwhile, Jean Pryde, our other co-founder and mental health professional with over two decades of experience, puts it rather well: "Our mission is to make mental wellbeing support as normal as saying 'hello'."
If you're heading to the trade fair, you'll find us at Stand LG14. Come see how we're combining sustainable production (yes, all our materials are FSC-certified) with social purpose. We might even tell you about our recent partnership with This Is Iris for licensing representation - there are some really exciting conversations happening with major retailers about extending our impact beyond cards.
In the end, perhaps that's what makes this trade fair debut special. It's not just about showcasing beautiful cards (though they are rather lovely). It's about showing Scotland - and the world - that business can be both brilliant and brave. That profit and purpose aren't opposing forces, but partners in creating positive change.
And if that sounds like the kind of movement you'd like to be part of, well, you know where to find us.
